Now, the North East is notorious for its fresh seafood, and there was an overwhelming amount of hype about Neptune's hot buttered lobster roll (how much did your mouth just water), but more on that later.
We started out with some appetizers, obviously. We're poor struggling college students, so suffice it to say we don't eat fresh oysters (or seafood for that matter) on the regular. But when in Rome, right?

Please excuse the poor quality, lighting was low in the restaurant and it was so cramped in there that flash would have been awkward.. haha
I mean, look at that! We decided to get two of each variety: clam, shrimp, and oyster. Everything was so delicious and I gotta say, I felt very important slurping up my oyster straight out of the shell TOTAL movie style. There was a literal shucking station in the corner of the restaurant where they prepared and plated the shellfish. So. yes. Side note: how ginormous are those shrimp?
Now for the main act - the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll.
Resist the urge to lick the screen.
There aren't many things I can say that the picture doesn't say for me. Disregarding the poor quality of this photo, it is clear that there is a HECK of a lot of lobster in this sandwich. They really don't skimp up north! It was so delicious and rich and tender and soft and all the other adjectives that make you want to throw money at a travel agent to book you the next flight to Boston.
I am not normally one to finish her meals, but I made a happy exception for this one (not to mention...struggling college student. I don't have 27 dollars pocket change to spend on a sandwich!) So this happened:
And I'm not even ashamed! Easily one of the best meals I've ever had! It's nice to treat yourself once and a while, and Neptune Oyster is definitely a place I plan on returning to once my wallet (and waist line) recover.
